1. Mystery Incs : These are the fly-by-night teams that decide after watching TV and Movies, that going out on weekends and "THINK" they are the next big thing in the paranormal. Bastardizing what we do in the field, "Fame, Fortune and Glory" is the only goal. No matter what the outcome to the clients safety. making things worse for them.
Bringing in Dogs or even children as bait to a location, just because "Hey they do it in that show, why not?"
You're endangering your children and your pets. They "Spirits, inhuman entities, shadow people, demonic" whatever the case maybe WILL attack them, and become traumatizing to their psyche. Being so unprofessional to the point of arguing over each other in front of clients. Marking clients homes with permanent marker, leaving trash behind, swearing, drinking, vandalizing, being territorial, no code of ethics nor commonsense.
2. The Collectors : These automatons, walking in a clients home and taking charge. Using the finest gadgets they can afford, gathering all the evidence they can muster and leaving the family with unanswered questions and leaving activity in their home, being either a natural explanations or paranormal activity. No follow through, no call backs, not even a simple email. Posting every single piece of evidence all over social media networks, with their circles and arrows pointing into vast voids of nothingness. Orbs that are smudges on the lenses, bugs, dust, and lint which primarily can taken care of with a lens cleaner or a can of lemon scented Pledge. Smoke that are mostly debunked by either members smoking, halitosis, or cold weather.
3. The Cleaners : These paladins clean up the mess left behind from the other two. Interviews, Investigations, Evidence, Counselling and crossing over spirits if need be. Following up on the clients months or even years later making certain they are safe and sound minded.

ReplyDeletegreat Blog
ReplyDeleteI am so sickened at the lack of respect by the Thrill seekers Fan club mentality, they care very little about the Clients the House's where in some case's Horrible things happened Murder, raps and suicides to name a few. this blog I agree with 100% and these are exactly the things that I dislike.
In my mind, they aren't ghost hunters, they are glory hunters!
ReplyDeleteI've seen similiar mentalities at New Age and other spiritual workshops. It's a form of narcissism.
It always rubs me the wrong way, but to people who are on that wavelength, they view it as finding kinsmen, so they'll usually surround themselves with others like them.
Joe, Very well said. We need more cleaners and less collectors and thrill seekers.

ReplyDeletetand, and then those who do so as Scientist or professionals in there field of expertise, many times loosing that creditability, and shunned by there colleagues. Paranormal understanding and knowing are still at its beginning stages, many presume to know or feel they are more knowledgeable than the next , when in fact we are all very new to Paranormal Phenomenon, as far as study and science. Trial and error is what causes us all to learn and progress that is human nature, and I feel our purpose in life, all have faltered on the path off discovery, but if persistence and learning prevail the discovery's are tremendous. That being said all who pursue this field should always conduct themselves as Professionals, but as we all know and im sorry to say, in any field there are those who will not, They do a disservice to themselves and those who are Legitimate within the field.
